Bonavita VS Technivorm

Millions of individuals across the globe choose to start their morning with a fresh brew. This doesn’t only prepare them for the long day ahead but also sparks their energy to start the day right. While there are countless coffee shops, cafés, and restaurants that line every street and exist on every corner, the products they sell are usually overpriced and take a while to prepare. This is why many coffee consumers have decided to take the coffee making process in their own hands by buying the best drip coffee maker in the market.Bonavita VS Technivorm Coffee Makers

Coffee machines come in different brands and with so many options to choose from, it can be hard to tell if the one you’ve got in your hands is truly the right one for your needs. Today, there are two brands that are making significant headway in the world of coffee brewers and these are the Bonavita and Technivorm.

Find out which of these two coffee maker brands truly shines the brightest by reading this quick comparison.

The Brewing Process

One of the ways you can tell if you’ve got the best drip coffee maker is by taking a closer look at the brewing process. Ultimately, you’ll want something that gives you great tasting coffee without having to spend too much time or effort.
The Bonavita coffee maker takes up to 6 minutes to finish a brew, which means you’d have just about that much time between setting up the machine and enjoying your morning blend. While it’s not quite as fast as some of the other coffee makers in the market, 6 minutes is still a pretty reasonable time and can be little enough to get you going from home to work with more minutes to spare.

The temperature of the Bonavita coffee blend right after brewing will play anywhere around 180 degrees if maintained in the brewer. After an hour, this can decrease to just 176 degrees, and then 150 degrees after 4 hours. If you’re the kind of person who likes their coffee hot, this might be a little on the down side, but again, this is quite forgivable.

Taking the Technivorm brewing process into consideration, it’s worth mentioning that this particular coffee maker can take up to 10 minutes to create a blend. For many, that might seem a little too long to wait. But if you have time to spare and you’re really set on buying a Technivorm, that might be acceptable enough. Just make sure you prepare your coffee long before you need to leave the house.

The Technivorm can keep your coffee at a temperature of 174 degrees after brewing, which might be slightly a less hot than the Bonavita. After an hour, expect that to drop to 164 degrees. Give it three hours more, and that could be as little as 138 degrees. Now, for many of us who want our coffee scorching hot, that might be a little unacceptable. But for those who want to be able to sip on their cup of Joe without scorching their tongue off, this could be a great big plus. Again, it’s up to you and how you prefer your morning brew.

The Price Tag

Considering that you will spend money on your coffee machine, you have to set a budget to better find out which works well for your means. When it comes to price, the Bonavita can be significantly more affordable, selling for as little as $ 129 USD for their more basic models. The basic series for Technivorm can cost $279 USD – a far cry from its Bonavita counterpart. But there is a reason for this significant difference in cost, and that will be explained in a bit.

The Build

Of course, because the Technivorm costs a whole lot more, it would only make sense for it to be built out of higher quality materials, and that’s precisely the case. The Technivorm boasts a thick aluminum body that will obviously stand against the test of time, wear, and tear. What’s more, the Technivorm offers a unique look and contemporary style unseen in any other coffee maker machine.

While the Bonavita does have a pretty sturdy build as well, it’s a little less on the robust end and makes use of materials that might not be as resilient as the Technivorm.  This is why the product sells for a much more affordable price. Another thing to consider is that the Bonavita doesn’t really make a big statement in terms of aesthetic. If you want a coffee machine that will stand out on your kitchen counter top, the Bonavita might not be the best choice for you.

All in all, it depends on how you want your coffee, how much you have to spend, and what you want it to look like. If you like your coffee a little less warm, if you have a bigger budget, and if you want a machine that looks like a work of art, then the Technivorm is your best bet. If on the other hand, you want your coffee on the hot side, you’re working on a budget, and you don’t mind have a traditional kitchen machine sitting on your counter, the Bonavita would be right up your alley.
